HONOR GUARD MISSION
The Patrick SFB Honor Guard provides military funeral honors for active duty members, retirees and veterans who served in the Air Force, Army Air Force and Army Air Corps and were "discharged under conditions other than dishonorable," IAW AFI 34-242. Our area of responsibility includes 11 counties, covering 13,276 square miles. Counties supported include Brevard, Broward, Indian River, Martin, Miami-Dade, Okeechobee, Osceola, Palm Beach, St. Lucie, Seminole and Volusia counties.
Active Duty – 20-person team that performs pallbearing, 6-man flag fold, firing party, color guard, Taps and flag presentation
Retiree – 7-person team that performs pallbearing, 6-man flag fold, firing party, Taps and flag presentation
Veteran – 2-person team that performs 2-person flag fold, Taps and flag presentation.
TO SCHEDULE THE HONOR GUARD
It's important to understand that there are two distinct types of Honor Guard requests:
- Funeral Honors: These are congressionally mandated and take precedence over all other Honor Guard activities.
- Secondary Honor Guard Request (Non-Funeral) – Armed Forces Participation in Public Engagement: This includes requests for participation in public events, ceremonies, and other activities.
To ensure requests is processed correctly, please follow these instructions:

If you are requesting Honor Guard support for a funeral, email or fax the DD-214 or documentation showing the individual was discharged under conditions other than dishonorable to:

Patrick SFB Honor Guard Secondary Requests (Non-Funeral):
To request the Honor Guard (Non-funeral), go to: Request for DOD/Armed Forces Participation in Public Events Form (Non-Aviation).
Note: Funerals are congressionally mandated and take precedence over all other Honor Guard activities. Non-funeral requests may be declined or cancelled if funerals conflict.
