NOTICE

Valued Guests, Thank you for your patronage in the Manatee Cove Campground. Please be advised of the following changes to our operation, effective Nov 1, 2016. The maxium length of uninterrupted stay in the campground shall be 170 days. Guests shall then vacate the campground for a minimum period of 48 hours. The campground may not be used to establish residency in the State of Florida. Return to the campground shall be based on site availability with the exception of active duty personnel who shall be placed back into the campground upon request. This change will enable Outdoor Recreation to be compliant with State residency mandates and Air Force policy. Guests are reminded the Chevron Park parking lot is an approved overnight rest area and is not permitted for use as an overflow area for the campground. Active duty personnel shall provide a minimum of 30 days advance notice for reservations. We highly encourage more advance notice when possible to ensure placement in the campground when desired. Other guests will not be directed to leave the campground to accommodate an active duty member. Thank you for you business and we look forward to serving you and your family in the future. POST HURRICANE RECOVERY UPDATE

2 November:

Valued patrons, please be advised of the following procedures for Phase one and Phase two check in to the campground.

These procedures have been put in place to facilitate placing guests into the campground and to minimize the potential for traffic jams or accidents.

Phase One: Evacuees please return your RV vehicles to the site you were assigned to on the day of evacuation, prior to coming to the office. We are actively in the process of speaking to evacuees via phone and if your site is no longer available due to unrepaired damage, we will attempt to assign you another site over the phone.

Phase Two: On Saturday, 5 November ONLY, the check in process will begin in the Chevron Park parking lot. Guests will sign in and be transported to the campground office for check in. Once a site has been assigned, guests will be transported back to Chevron Park to pick up their RV and drive it to their site. If you are in a nearby campground and plan on arriving in your automobile, you will still be required to park in Chevron Park and be transported to the office. You may return at a later time to park your RV on your assigned site. We will continue this process on Saturday until we are reasonably assured there will not be a traffic jam in the campground. ODR staff and hosts will be available to assist guests throughout all phases of the check in process. Refreshments will be available at Chevron Park and in the community center.

Security Forces has been advised of the anticipated line of RVs to get into the campground and we will seek their assistance if needed.

October 31 Update: We are extremely pleased to announce our reopening dates.
Phase 1: Evacuees may report to the campground office starting 9 am on Thursday,November 3. These personnel have until 4 pm on Friday, November 4 to arrive and be situated back into the campground.

Phase 2: The campground will open for all others on Saturday, November 5 at 9 am. Reminder that not all sites will be open at this time pending additional work required to restore them to safe use. October 28: Thank you for your calls and concerns about our recovery efforts. Everyone's patience and understanding has been nothing short of outstanding and this only strengthens our commitment to ensure our services exceed your expectations. We are aware our evacuees and others who are hopeful to join us, are in the immediate area and anxiously awaiting a notice on the firm reopening date.

Please continue to call us at 321-494-2042 or the Family Campground office at 321-494-4787. You may place your name on our campground call list and I will personally contact you to answer your questions and concerns. We're making every effort is being made to reopen on November 1, however we have to make sure the area is safe and ready for occupancy.
FSS & CES are meeting again today to assess what still needs to be done and how many sites we might be able to open on Nov 1. We will base our way forward based on CES's recommendations and ability to help us provide a safe campground.

When we do open it will be in 2 phases: Phase 1: Evacuees have return rights and will be contacted first. They will be given approximately two days and a deadline to report to the office in the campground to get resituated. Please keep in mind not all sites will reopen at the same time. If an evacuee has an extenuating circumstance, please contact me directly. Phase 2: Once the deadline for evacuees occurs, the campground will be open for others based on the number of sites we can safely open. A notice will be sent out to communicate the dates for phase one and phase two.

For those who were evacuated, a refund or credit will be given for the days they were evacuated. Please note, the rate at the time of the evacuation was the off-season rate and refunds or credits will be applied at the off-season rate. The in-season rate begins on Nov 1. CAMPGROUND

Located directly along the historic Banana River, the campground currently has 156 full-service sites with 30/50 amp capability, ten primitive camping sites, two laundry and shower facilities, a 24-hour community center and a private beach. Placement is on a first-come, first-served basis with the exception of active duty personnel. Potential guests are highly encouraged to call ahead and inquire about availability during the months of November thru February when the campground traditionally maintains close to full capacity.
