General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant::Are you concerned about the soaring cost of higher education for your children?  Maybe the Air Force Aid Society can help.  Under its General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant Program, the society awards $2,000 each to selected applicants.  The program continues to be offered to dependent sons and daughters of active duty, Title 10 AGR/Reservists on extended active duty, Title 32 AGR performing full-time active duty, retired, retired Reservists with 20 plus qualifying years of service, and deceased Air Force members.  Spouses (residing stateside) of active duty and Title 10 AGR/Reservists on extended active duty, and surviving spouses of deceased members are also eligible candidates.  For more information and to download an application, visit the Air Force Aid Society's web site at: www.afas.org 

Post 9/11 GI Bill: The Department of Veteran Affairs is accepting applications for the Post 9/11 GI bill. All members should refer to the VA website at www.gibill.va.gov or contact the VA at 1-888-442-4551 for guidance.

Columbia College announces new funding resource for military spouses: The DoD has established a tuition assistance program for spouses of active duty personnel serving in the regular forces and for spouses of activated National Guard and REserve members. Called the My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA), the program provides up to $6,000 in tuition assistance for spouses to pursue degree programs, certification, licensure and credentials at any accredited college or university. All Columbia College degree programs have been approved for financial assistance through the MyCAA program. To apply for admission, go online to www.airportal.acc.af.mil/mycaa. Adjunct instructors - Volunteer Positions needed: If you are a part of the 45th Space wing community & interested in sharing your experiences give us a call to become an adjunct instructor.

Customer Service Classes: Topics from Dealing with Difficult People, Listening Skills, to Telephone Courtesy and Building Teamwork classes.

Professional Supervisor Classes: These courses are required for all new supervisors and recommended for experienced supervisors. Retraining is necessary with the many changes in administrative procedures and laws.

Supervisors’ Core Classes (Required for all new Supervisors)

New Employee Orientation: Mon, Wed, and Fri mornings are reserved for new employees to attend New Employee Orientation, directly after in-processing with the HRO.

Special Classes: Suicide Prevention Awareness, Anti-Terrorism/OPSEC, ORM Fundamentals, and Back Safety Training are just some of the special classes offered.

NAIMES Student Spotlight Award
Please note all Active duty personnel from all service branches, using federal tuition assistance funding through the Voluntary Education program, are invited to submit an application. The scholarship is a $1,200 cash prize and commemorative plaque to be awarded to the top three projects. In addition, travel funds, not to exceed $500, will be available to allow recipients to receive their award at the annual Council of College and Military Educators symposium in Nashville this year. The cash prize goes to the recipient and can be used for anything they want, does not have to go towards tuition.
